[Nhandan] Building on the achievements of previous APEC years, Viet Nam will host APEC 2027 in Phu Quoc Special Administrative–Economic Zone, An Giang Province, with the vision of fostering a peaceful, prosperous, sustainable and inclusive Asia–Pacific region.

To ensure thorough and effective preparations for APEC 2027, under Decision No. 1507/QD-TTg issued by the Prime Minister on July 10, the National Committee for APEC 2027, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, will take the lead in organizing conferences and activities during APEC Leaders’ Week. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the official announcement ceremony for the establishment of the National Committee for APEC 2027 is scheduled to take place on July 25 in Hanoi.
APEC 2027 will be held in Phu Quoc Special Administrative–Economic Zone, An Giang Province, under the theme “Connecting, Building Inclusive and Resilient Economies.” The program will include four rounds of Senior Officials’ Meetings (SOMs) and related meetings, along with sectoral ministerial meetings and working group activities. In addition, a series of business summits, high-level dialogues between leaders and the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), the ABAC Meeting, and business-related events chaired and coordinated by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will also be organized.
The event marks a significant milestone in Viet Nam’s external relations within the region and presents an important opportunity to promote the country’s image and standing on the international stage. In this context, An Giang Province has announced a wide range of projects and infrastructure developments in preparation for APEC 2027, while emphasizing a shared message from local authorities and the community toward a vision of “green, clean and beautiful Phu Quoc, environmental sustainability, and investment connectivity.” According to reports, the province has proactively carried out preparatory work for APEC 2027, largely in line with the planned schedule.
Over the past more than 25 years since joining APEC, Viet Nam has made active and substantive contributions to the Forum. It is among the few member economies to have successfully hosted APEC twice, in 2006 and 2017. Viet Nam has also played an active role in proposing initiatives and projects, with over 150 projects across various sectors, and currently serves as Coordinator for the APEC Structural Reform Agenda for the 2026–2030 period.
